I've never been a fan of powerpoint....in fact I fall in the group that just does not like it. I can't stand how restrictive it is, and I always find myself getting distracted. If you have ever felt like this before, you're going to love this.
Welcome to Prezi!!! This is a very cool presentation site that allows the presenter to choose the direction in where the presentation will go. I love it. I think it's great and easy to use....and if you're an educator you can take part of their educator's free program.
If you like what you see so far, please talk it up to your fellow co-workers and administrators. Let's all get together and move away from power point and move closer to Prezi.
Check out my first product.

my weapon of choice recently has been glogster, but I consider PPT a very important tool in my box of tricks in how it allows me to "make" graphics/jpegs quickly and it is always available!
I've always hated PPT too. Many of my students complain about how boring the teachers are that rely totally on power point to deliver their lectures.
I'll definitely be checking this out!
I finally learned powerpoint...sigh....but I will give it a try.
another free, online tool i use to organize my lessons and work packets is Quizinator.
even though its free, it has a ton of features and i dont have to worry about carrying my work around with me anymore since its all online for me.
I have gotten better at PowerPoint and am actually doing a project this week with my 5th graders, but after checking out the video you have posted PowerPoint (and I must say the stand up routine was hysterical!) I was curious enough to check out prezi and I have to say it looked very user friendly and more modern and up to date than PowerPoint. I signed up for a free educator's membership and am anxious to try it out. I would be really curious to have my 5th graders do the same project in Prezi as they are currently doing in PowerPoint. Happy to have found your blog and certainly will share this information with colleagues! I'll let you know what we think after trying it!
Loved it! I have used prezi before but have never seen that comedy over PPT. I can't wait to share your prezi with others. Great job!
One of my ed tech students gave his final presentation using Prezi. Even though it was rough around the edges, it felt new, logical, fun, and engaging. They have an education account, where you get the more robust service without the fee.
Prezi also has an education exchange. You can sort through educational presentations by topic or grade level. If you jump on the Prezi wagon, you can email patrick.wenger@prezi.com and request membership in the community.
